Hi Lola: The meditation you linked to is NOT one of Usui Sensei's Reiki Meditations. There are specific meditation methods that Usui taught. I detailed some of the fallacies found in global Reiki on this subject in my latest post Modern Reiki. It's best to learn the techniques that are inherent to a teaching.

Hands-on Reiki is invaluable. It's truly a gift for this world. Not really sure why anyone would not practice it, but there's a context around this.

Reiki is the only teaching that I know which has this option, while being solidly based in the primary method of spiritual practice: Meditation. But this isn't any meditation. It's meditation based on a timeless understanding of Ki.

What you may be going through with hands-on Reiki is that if you've only received the teachings of Reiki as an energy healing art, without its meditative grounding, the value of hands-on may become stale to you or the mind minimizes it.

You may want to also take a gander at Practical tips for the Reiki practitioner.

Mmm some food for thought there. I'm curious to find out more about the Usui meditations, I just did a quick Google search and found http://usui-reiki.org/Silent%20Meditation.htm, which I may give a go.

I love meditating, it happens very naturally for me and I miss it when I don't do it. This used to be the case for self-healing too but not anymore. The only areas I still self-heal are my solar plexus, throat and heart chakras, as this seems to be where my blocks manifest but not in a full body healing kind of way.

I think it's important to be clear of blocks and respect my energy taking the time to keep it clear, but not through self-healing anymore. I'm gonna sit with this for a bit I think and see what happens.

Thanks Pamir.

In love, light and abundance x x x
